Is Heino Nitsche, chemistry professor at UC Berkeley, related to philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche?

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

I am just curious if anyone knows if these two are related. I heard from someone that Heino Nitsche is the great-great-great-great grandson of Friedrich Nietzsche, but I haven’t been able to find anything about this, so I am not sure if it is a valid statement.

is obama the first ivy league college professor ever to be elected president?

Monday, September 7th, 2009

it seems to me that this man is just another whacko lib college professor. his policies come straight our of naom chomsky and of course, karl mark. and we all know that almost every college professor is a marxist through and through…and that they have become VERY efficient at turning out good little marxists. if you don’t believe me, go talk to a college student. they sound just like our president! frightening…
wow…you people are REALLY missing the point here…lol.

As a college professor, what type of doctoral degree is needed?

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

In other words, if you are already teaching a subject with your masters, does it help/hurt you to get a doctoral degree in another field. For instance, if you are already teaching communication, would it help you (with tenure for instance) to get a degree in education for example?

Which would you prefer- an old, above-retirable age professor or a young teacher? Why?

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Hello to all of you guys! I’m gonna have a debate and our proposition is “Teachers beyond 65 years of age are still capable of teaching.” Well, I got the negative side so I need factual basis and your comments on the disadvantages of having a really old professor and the advantages of having a young teacher! I would really appreciate it…. Thanks!

what my professor meant by this question about Abolitionists?

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

i am required to write essay. i dont want anybody to write it for me, but i just dont understand what my professor meant by this. i tried to email him, but no response… this is question: The Abolitionists greatest achievement lay in shattering the conspiracy of silence that had sought to preserve national unity by suppressing public debate over slavery. explain how the abolitionists achieved this and comment on how successful the movement was or was not.
the biggest problem for me is to understand words “conspiracy of silence”
i will be thankful for any reasonable suggestion. thanks

I’m a University professor. How do I react to insulting comment about me posted in the Internet by my student?

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

This comment was posted by one of my student, whom I asked not to talk over the cell phone in class. I came across this comment today and was totally shocked. I spend so much time preparing for the classes and I try to do my best teaching students, and now I discover that two of them discuss me and my words in a humiliating and insulting manner.

They even posted my e-mails that I had sent to them - those e-mails were totally correct and dealt woth academic issues.
