What do I need to know before considering a clerical or office job?
Saturday, October 3rd, 2009As of now I work at Blockbuster but I’m only seasonal so after the 15th I have no job. I’ve worked at a restaurant for five years as a cook, waitress, baker and cashier. Then I worked at CVS for almost a year as a cashier, photo tech and pharmacy assistant. What things should I know or learn before applying for a clerical job, also any tips to get hired would be great. Is it also possible that I could get paid more than $6.50 an hour, I live in South Texas. Thanks in advance.

How do you get bottom layer flat for layer cake?
Monday, September 28th, 2009I’m not a baker but, I’m making layer cake and need to know how to get bottom layer flat so I can frost without that big space between the layers. Any way to do it without cutting rounded top off?
You are all great! Answers galore. Thanks so much because I have to do this right now. It’s for tonight. Thanks again. Gee, how will I choose a ‘best answer’? : )
I’m still eating the one I ruined yesterday! I’m gonna get so fat! Ha,ha!
Uh Oh! I frosted it and the frosting must have been too heavy. The top layer split right in two. Well, it’s just for my young son and I think he will eat it anyhow. Thanks to everyone for wonderful answers.

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009What the ski resort with the highest annual snowfall in the world?
Tuesday, September 15th, 2009I know Mount Baker ski area in Washington state gets almost 700 inches a year (claims it’s the most in N. America). I’ve heard of some international resorts that could possibly get more but I haven’t been able to find any sites that say what the annual snowfall is. Possibly Dizin, Iran or Chimbulak, Kazakhstan. Does anyone know what these resorts get and if they’re higher than Mt. Baker?

Saturday, September 12th, 2009Baker Act in Pennsylvania?
Saturday, September 5th, 2009I’ve got a problem where a close relative of mine is behaving in a not sane way. No joke.
I’ve heard of a Baker Act in Florida to get people treated for possible mental illness, but is there a Baker Act or some other law in PA?
If you have any links to steps or requirements needed to have someone treated that’d be great also.

How do I make a several layer cake?
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009My son’s 14th birthday is in 2 weeks and he has requested a seven layer cake. He says it is a yellow cake with chocolate icing in the layers. I am a beginner baker and have only mastered one strawberry cake from scratch and of course the Duncan Hines varieties. I would love helpful hints with the layer thing…..
